Cascade Holdings
Cascade Holdings is a diversified commerce company operating a food-production facility, a regional distribution network, 18 company-owned retail stores, and a chain of 8 quick-service restaurants. Each business unit ran its own software stack: an on-premise ERP for manufacturing, a cloud WMS for distribution, a SaaS POS and retail-management suite for stores, and a separate restaurant-management system. The company employed six full-time IT staff dedicated to maintaining integrations between these systems, and executives still couldn't get a consolidated view of company-wide performance without a two-week manual reporting process. Financial close took 18 business days each month because data had to be extracted, reconciled, and consolidated from four different general ledgers.
Cascade consolidated all four business units onto CW Suite over a phased 16-week implementation. The food-production facility was deployed with the Digital Production Planner, Digital Quality Inspector, and Digital Recipe Manager. The distribution network received the Digital Warehouse Coordinator and Digital Logistics Planner. Retail stores were deployed with the Digital Store Manager, Digital Inventory Planner, and Digital CRM Executive. Restaurants received the Digital Kitchen Manager and Digital Shift Planner. The Digital Finance Assistant and Digital Supply Chain Orchestrator were deployed as cross-cutting agents that operated across all four business units. The six-person integration team was retrained on CW Suite administration and redeployed to strategic technology initiatives.
Cascade achieved full platform consolidation within 16 weeks, decommissioning four legacy systems and eliminating all custom integration middleware. Financial close time dropped from 18 business days to 4 business days — a 78% reduction — as all transactions now flow through a single ledger in real time. Total technology cost of ownership decreased by 52%, saving $1.8 million annually. Executive reporting became real-time, with a single dashboard showing cross-unit performance. The Digital Supply Chain Orchestrator identified $600,000 in cross-unit optimization opportunities in the first quarter — such as routing production overruns directly to company-owned restaurants instead of selling them at a discount to third-party distributors. Total first-year economic impact exceeded $4.2 million.
“We were spending more on integration middleware than on actual business software. CW Suite gave us one platform for everything — and the platform found optimization opportunities across our business units that we never would have seen with siloed systems.”
